Thanks for sharing this with us.  I think it&#039;s a good reminder that while the US and Europe have already gone through their bloody struggles for independence-- Mexico, Latin America and even part of South America are still struggling.  It&#039;s easy to tsk-tsk this as an outsider, but only 60 years ago we were in the middle of WWII, which was massively violent and senseless and on such a larger scale.  It&#039;s part of the process, but we tend to forget our own history, &quot;glorifying&quot; WWII (not to mention all the other crap the US has done in the intervening years).  The only difference is the in the US we go to other people&#039;s countries to fight, never at home.</description>

Everywhere has so many problems, I think, but what&#039;s important to know about Mexico (and many other Latin American countries) is that they&#039;re shaking off centuries of economic and social oppression and instability and violence is an all but inevitable result.</description>
